Having begun his professional career in the musical arena in 1987 as a professor at the University of California and Slippery Rock University, “Uncle Buddy” Lakins’ career has taken him all over the world to such countries as Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Italy and Austria.
Born and raised in the steel town of Pittsburgh, PA his prowess behind the piano, organ and keyboard was the catalyst that propelled his career as a musical director for such notable names in Gospel music such as Kim Burrell, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Maurette BrownClark, Jonathan Nelson, Isaiah D. Thomas and more. Most impressive are the internationally known evangelists that “Buddy” has worked very closely with over the past ten plus years which include but are not limited to WORLD renowned filmmaker/pastor Bishop T. D. Jakes (Potters House, Dallas TX) and the dynamic Rod Parsley of World Harvest Church in Columbus, OH.
Buddy is the producer / arranger / music director arm of 4:30 Entertainment working on albums for most of the people mentioned here and many more not mentioned here. When it comes to finding the musicians, creating dynamic arrangements, coaching background vocalists, producing an album project, mounting a live recording or simply laying down piano, keyboard or organ tracks, Buddy settles fornothing but the BEST he can offer each and every client. And theydon’t call him “Uncle Buddy” for nothing. He’s extremely easy to work with and every client is assured the BEST finished product that your budget can buy.
Buddy Lakins, Jr. currently resides in Baltimore, MD where many of his family members live. But you can occasionally find him going back home to Pittsburgh from time to time. He’s a “Terrible Towel” Steeler fan and loves eating at Ruby Tuesdays.
